Medrig Carts & Sunny Mountain Carts

Where the mountain turns into a racetrack

With Mountain Carts in Kappl & See, summer in the mountains comes with an extra dose of speed. In See, the 3.5-kilometre Medrig Carts route runs from Zeinisbahn mountain station down to its valley station, which is located at the same altitude as Medrigjochbahn mountain station. In Kappl, the Sunny Mountain Carts set off from Alblittbahn mountain station. From there, a 4.26-kilometre forest road takes you down to its valley station, right by Diasbahn mountain station.

Whether you are out with the family, spending the day with friends or looking for an action-packed end to a hike, a Mountain Cart ride combines speed, panoramic views and plenty of fun on three wheels. After a short safety briefing, it is time to hop on your cart and head back downhill to the mountain station of the respective feeder lift.

Where can you ride Mountain Carts in Kappl & See?

Location & routes

The Sunny Mountain Carts start at Alblittbahn mountain station in Kappl. From there, the 4.26-kilometre forest road leads down to Alblittbahn valley station, which is located at the same altitude as Diasbahn mountain station. Tickets are available at the Diasbahn valley and mountain stations and at Alblittbahn mountain station. 

The Medrig Carts route starts at Zeinisbahn mountain station in See. The 3.5-kilometre forest road descends 424 metres in altitude to Zeinisbahn valley station, at the altitude of Medrigjochbahn mountain station. Tickets are available at the Medrigjochbahn valley and mountain stations and at Zeinisbahn mountain station.

Good to know before a Mountain Cart ride

Useful information

Clear rules apply when riding the Mountain Carts. Helmets are compulsory, speed must be adjusted to the conditions and riders must show consideration for hikers and grazing livestock. Tailgating, riding in large groups and racing are prohibited. Pasture fences may only be passed at walking pace and animals are not allowed on the carts. Feet must remain on the footrests throughout the ride. The carts may only be used on the designated route and all signs and instructions must be observed.

Children under the age of 14 may only use the Mountain Carts and routes when accompanied by an adult. Children under 12 who are also under 150 centimetres tall must ride on the cart together with an adult. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted to use the Mountain Carts or routes. 

Mountain Carts do not operate in rain or after heavy rain. Closed, sturdy footwear and a helmet are compulsory for everyone riding the carts. Clothing suited to the weather and sunglasses to protect against wind and dust are also recommended. Staff are available if you have any questions, and all equipment, including helmets, must be returned to the garages or ticket office after your ride.

Prices for the Sunny Mountain Carts mainly vary depending on the number of rides and whether they are combined with ascent tickets. 

Good to know: An official photo ID is required for discounted rates. Discounts are available for

  • children (free under the age of 8 when accompanied by their parents, children’s rate up to age 17)
  • seniors (aged 65 and over) and
  • people with disabilities (70% reduction in earning capacity; children’s rate applies).

Prices for the Medrig Carts vary depending on the ticket type, available discounts and the number of rides. Multi-ride tickets are valid throughout the summer. Tickets are available at the Medrigjochbahn valley and mountain stations. 

With the Silvretta Card Premium, a valid annual ticket or RegioCard, guests pay the following prices:
