Important emergency contacts

When you need help quickly
  • European emergency number: 112
  • Fire brigade: 122
  • Police: 133
  • Mountain rescue: 140
  • Medical on-call service: 141
  • Ambulance: 144
  • Health advice line: 1450

When making an emergency call: Stay calm, give your location as precisely as possible, briefly explain what has happened and state how many people need help.

Austrian emergency numbers can be called free of charge. The European emergency number 112 can also be called from a locked mobile phone without entering a PIN.

There are two medical practices in Kappl and See providing medical care. Both also have an in-house pharmacy.

Outside regular surgery hours, the medical on-call service on 141 can provide information on the doctor currently on duty. For health-related questions that are not an acute emergency, call the health advice line on 1450.

In the event of an accident on the slopes, you can contact the ski patrol directly:

Accidents can also be reported at any lift or cable car station. To ensure help arrives quickly, provide the most precise information possible about the location of the accident, the number of people injured and what happened.

Before setting off, check the weather, snow report, avalanche conditions and the current operating status of lifts and facilities. Markings, closures and instructions from the lift operators are there for your safety and must always be followed. Your equipment should also be suitable for the activity you are planning and the current conditions.

If an accident occurs, secure the scene as far as possible, provide first aid and call for help immediately. In the event of an accident on the slopes, there is a duty to report the accident, provide assistance and identify yourself – including for witnesses.
