Two villages within easy reach
Kappl & See are located in western Tyrol at the entrance to the Paznaun valley. Travelling from the direction of Landeck, See comes first, followed by Kappl just a few minutes later. Both villages can be reached by train and bus as well as by car, motorbike or plane.
Travelling without your own car is easy: Take the train to Landeck-Zams and continue from there on bus 260, which takes guests directly to See and Kappl. By car, the route leads via the S16 and B188. The nearest airport is Innsbruck Airport.

Local transport in the Paznaun valley
Getting to the Paznaun valley by train, car or plane is often only the first part of the journey. Public buses and local shuttle buses, ski and summer buses as well as taxis are available for the onward journey to your accommodation, the cable car stations or local attractions. Travelling by train
Sit back and enjoy the scenery on the way to the Paznaun valley: Travelling by train makes for a relaxed start to your break, with no need for your own car. Your destination is Landeck-Zams railway station.
Depending on the timetable, there are direct services from Vienna, Graz, Salzburg and Zurich, among others. From Germany, Italy and other regions, convenient connections with only a few changes take you to your destination. Compare individual journey times and available fares with ÖBB, DB and SBB.

Sports & Outdoor Experience Tickets
The ÖBB Adventure Ticket for the Ischgl Archery Course combines a return journey to Landeck-Zams, a onward journey on bus route 260 and the archery experience. You can choose between a 30-minute taster session or a three-hour archery course, including equipment.

Practical services for rail travellers
ÖBB Rail & Drive carsharing vehicles are available at Landeck-Zams railway station and Innsbruck main railway station. This gives you plenty of flexibility for the onward journey to your accommodation, the cable car valley stations or a stop along the way.
Guests travelling to the Paznaun valley by train can send their luggage and sports equipment ahead. With a valid ÖBB ticket, the ÖBB luggage service transports eligible items from door to door. The service is available within Austria as well as to and from Germany and South Tyrol. In addition to suitcases, it transports packaged ski and snowboard equipment, folded pushchairs and wheelchairs as well as bicycles packed securely for transport.
Travelling by car or motorbike
From Innsbruck, take the A12 and S16 to the Paznaun/Ischgl exit. From Vorarlberg and the Arlberg, the route also follows the S16. From there, the B188 takes you to See first and then to Kappl just a few minutes later.
For a smooth journey:
- check traffic reports, roadworks and road conditions before setting off
- make sure you have a valid toll sticker and, depending on your route, any additional section toll required, for example for the Arlberg Tunnel
- carry a warning triangle, high-visibility vest and first-aid kit
- form an emergency corridor in good time if traffic builds up on motorways and expressways

Travelling by plane
At a distance of around 100 kilometres, Innsbruck Airport is the closest airport to the Paznaun valley. There are several options for onward travel from the terminal to Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See.

Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See can be reached by train, bus, car, motorbike or plane. By car, the route to the valley follows the S16 and B188 via the Paznaun/Ischgl motorway exit. Rail travellers take the train to Landeck-Zams and continue by bus, taxi or rental car.
The Silvretta High Alpine Road is only open seasonally and is closed in winter. For the regular journey into the Paznaun valley, the recommended route is via the S16 and B188.
